Trail Running Clinics

Are you an absolute trail nut, who loves a good adventure?

Or maybe you are looking to make the switch from road to trail? Great! We have a clinic for that!

Our clinics are open to all paces and abilities from those that prefer slow and steady with lots of photo/snack breaks, to the gazelles that don’t want to spend too much time waiting around. We offer an easy, moderate and fast pace group with an experienced trail leader to suit your speed needs. Our friendly trail leaders will guide you through your long run days on beautiful scenic mostly single-track trails in a variety of areas in Vernon. 

FALL 2019

LEARN TO RUN TRAIL RUNNING CLINIC

FALL 2019- Sept 30th - Dec 9th

Always wanted to run? Or run in the trails? Don’t know where to start? Never ran before, or coming back from an injury? Then this is the place for you!

Our Learn to Run program will teach you all you need to know about running in all kinds of weather, biomechanics, nutrition, goal setting, injury prevention, motivation, pacing and much more. We will run together 1 day and week, at each class we will start with a 20-30 minute talk about that weeks training focus practice the forms then go put for our run. Some weeks we will have a guest instructor that will lead you through run specific exercise before we start our run. We help you learn to run in a positive, fun environment on different trails each week.

We will also cover trail and wildlife safety and trail etiquette. 

Monday evening classes great 6pm, 1-1:20 hr

TRAIL RUNNING CLINIC

FALL 2019- Sept 24th - Dec 7th

In this clinic we focus not only endurance maintenance, but the basics of trail running will be covered to build a solid foundation in trail technique, speed, hill work, tempo, descent training, core work and strength training. We will also cover trail and wildlife safety and trail etiquette. Your long runs will be on mostly single-track trail and will top out at 

10-15 km-2 -2:30 hours by the end of the clinic. / 25km 3-3:45 by end of clinic / 50 km- 4-4:30 by end of clinic

Tuesday evening classes will be at 6pm for 1-1:30 hr

 

This clinic will help prepare you for feeling confident and safe with not only in your trail running abilities but different distance events. You don’t need to be fast to join this group!

  • 15km- 30 min Aerobic fitness level

ADVANCED TRAIL RUNNING CLINIC

FALL 2019- Sept 25th - Dec 7th

In this clinic we focus not only Endurance Maintenance.Your coaches will be heavily focusing on different formand techniques for, speed, hill work, tempo, Terrain and descent running.  We will be also doing video analysis to help you asees, make adjustments and aid in technique training.

 

We will work on the importance of core and strength training, cover trail and wildlife safety, the basics of writing your own program, and respecting our forests and trail etiquette.

 

Your long runs will be on mostly single-track trails and will top out at depending on which distance you are training for

10-15 km- 2– 2:30 hours by end of the clinic / 25km- 3-3:45 by end of clinic / 50km- 4hr by end of clinic.

 

This clinic will also help prepare you for feeling confident and safe with your trail running abilities in multiple distance events or simply running with confidence for fun!

 

You don’t need to be fast to join this group, you just need to have prior clinic experience

Wednesday evening classes 1-1:30 hr

We will also cover trail and wildlife safety and trail etiquette. Your long runs will be on mostly single-track trail and will top out at 

10-15 km-2 -2:30 hours by the end of the clinic. / 25km 3-3:45 by end of clinic / 50 km- 4-4:30 by end of clinic

We will be shifting into race strategy mode for some and getting you race ready.

We will be coming out of winter and getting our bodies strong and Trail run and race season together!
