At BB Trail Running, we offer a unique winter experience combining snowshoeing and relaxation. Here's what you can expect from your weekend with us:
1. Snowshoeing Adventure: Our expert guides will take you on an exhilarating snowshoeing adventure through the beautiful trails of our winter wonderland. You'll explore stunning landscapes, breathe in fresh mountain air, and enjoy an unforgettable winter experience.
2. Relaxation and Yoga: After a day of adventure, you'll have plenty of time to relax and unwind. We offer a range of activities, including yoga, relaxation sessions, and pilates. You'll have the opportunity to recharge your batteries and feel refreshed.
3. Community: Our snowshoe and relaxation package is not just about physical activity and relaxation, but also about building connections. You'll be surrounded by a community of like-minded individuals who share your love for nature, adventure, and wellness. You'll have plenty of opportunities to socialize, make new friends, and create lasting memories.

As the resort is based mid-mountain, guests can easily access activities right out their door. In addition, the village has a small, intimate feel with a variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes to explore and get to know the locals. The architecture style is designed in the Klondike gas-light era, giving the resort a unique and cozy atmosphere.
Our resort is your home away from home, and we want you to feel as comfortable as possible during your stay.
Silver Star Resort and Silver Star Stays offers a range of accommodations for every budget. 3:30 pm: Optional arrival yoga 45 mins with Sarah from Yoga + Life
6:00 pm: Meet and Greet with light snacks & beverages provided (location TBA)
8:30 pm: Optional 45-70 min starlight snowshoe
SATURDAY, November 18th
8:00 am: 45 mins wake up yoga with Sarah
9:15 am: Coffee and Muffins
10:15 am: Meet for snowshoe adventure
10:30 am: Leave for your snowshoe adventure
Lunch will be at your leisure on your own time
1:00 pm: Pre-scheduled massages begin
7:00 pm: Amazing 3 course Farm to Table meal
9:00 pm: Entertainment at the Red Antler
SUNDAY, November 19th
7:00 am: Coffee and Muffins
9:00 am: Optional 1 hour snowshoe or yoga with Sarah
10:15 am: Final farewell

11:30 am: Nutritional education with Mel Spooner: Fuelling, hydration, recovery, for off season training)
12:30 pm - How to plan, prepare, and when to start a new program for your 2024 season.

Coach and owner of BB Trail Running. Dawna has been a trail runner/ ultra runner since 2003. A certified trainer, running and ultra running coach since 1996, Dawna’s commitment, knowledge, and enthusiasm to trail running, and snowshoe cross-training will help guide you into that off season training.

Sara:
She’s been practicing yoga since 2007, teaching for several years. Sara currently teaches at least seven classes a week (mostly online), and loves how the practice grounds and supports her own active life.
A long time Okanagan girl, Sara lives with her husband (& pup) in Calgary most of the time, and is delighted to be bringing yoga to the participants of Treeline Retreat, connecting with Destination Silver Star and Bush Babes Trail Running.

Mel:
Mel received her BSC with a major in Nutrition from Bastyr University, Seattle, Washington in 1996
As Mel became more involved in endurance racing it became a natural fit to delve more into the world of sports nutrition. Realizing that you can be super fit but you need to the energy to keep going in order to fully achieve your goals.
For the first few years using herself as a guinea pig and then branching out to work with others.
Mel has spent over 25 years working with athletes to find nutrition plans that work taking into account personal criteria such as pace, duration, food sensitives to name a few and the basics of energy needs and hydration. She looks forward to sharing with you and hearing your sports nutrition stories.

You do not need to be an expert snowshoer to join this retreat.
Snowshoe Pace doesn't matter participants will be separated into pace groups.
*Headlamps will be required for our nighttime snowshoe outing.
Yes, all participants are required to sign a waiver before their first run with BB Trail Running. The waiver includes important safety information, such as the inherent risks of trail running, acknowledgement of the participant's physical fitness level, and consent to medical treatment in case of emergency. Signing the waiver is a mandatory step in the registration process and is necessary to ensure the safety of all participants. BB Trail Running takes safety seriously, and the waiver is a key component of their safety protocol.
