The Joy Of Running Clinics

Who You Are As A Trail Runner

Becoming who you are as a trail running means different things to different people. Some of us are competitive and want to race, some us are wanting to go further and faster, and some want to just be out in nature, learn how to glide across the earth with the least amount of discomfort and enjoy the scenery.

Whoever you are, or are going to become as a trail runner takes time to develop, and sometimes we need a little help.

The Wrap Up

As my most resent trail running clinic is coming to a close, I find myself thinking of all the people I have had the honour to be entrusted with their coaching.

I feel incredibly fortunate to watch groups of men and women come to my trail clinics, starting out nervous and self conscious, wondering what they have gotten themselves into and wether this is the right place for them or not.

Then the training starts, they all suffer and laugh, together while bonds and new trail running friendships are formed. It is always the same and a true joy to watch develop.

Motivation

At first it is a bit of a chore to get their training runs in outside of the group, then it doesn't take long, and through my Strava stalking, I watch them not only get the required run in, but do more and go places they would have never thought they would run before.

Watching them train hard and succeed in so many amazing ways is truly a gift given to me that I am very appreciative of.

These running clinics are more than a job to me, we are building a community, bringing people together and eventually we will take over the world one trail runner at a time MWAHAHAHA.

But in all seriousness, I am blessed with the trust these men and women place in me and am humbled by their success and determination...

I could also not do this without the help of my amazing trail leaders that put so much time and truly caring into these clinics.

MUCHO BESOS to you all
